Electrolysis is a specialised treatment using an electrical current and just the very tip of the most delicate needle to remove unwanted skin blemishes with no mark left on the skin. There may cause mild swelling, redness and scabbing following the treatment that can be soothed by using aloe vera cream or gel.
Skin tags are harmless, non-infective little overgrowths of normal skin which can be unsightly and catch on things. You may often find a skin tag on one’s neck, eyelids, armpits, chest and groin areas. There may be just one or multiple numbers of tags of various sizes (from 1 to 4 mm) and raised away from the skin on a ‘stalk’. Nose and facial thread veins, milia, blood spots (cherry spots), common warts, plane warts, seborrhoeic warts and age spots, to name just a few of the 20+ blemishes that can be effectively and successfully treated with Electrolysis.
We can also remove them by administering a tiny amount of local anaesthetic to the area and drawing with a surgical blade or by cauterising it with diathermy (Electrolysis). A small dressing may be applied afterwards. This procedure may take only 10 to 15 minutes.
